The Laurel Highlands Vulcan Riders, chapter PA 1-17, are pleased and proud to be your hosts for the 8th Annual VRA-USA Eastern Rally July 7-10,2014!  West Central Pennsylvania is an area steeped in history and contains some of the most scenic and interesting riding roads in the northeastern United States. From colonial times when the southern part of the area was the scene of Forbes’ march to Ft. Pitt during the French and Indian War to the turmoil of the Whiskey Rebellion, the Commonwealth has made many contributions to the nation’s history. Lee’s invasion of the North, which culminated in the battle of Gettysburg, passed through the mountains in the eastern part of the region while the PRR locomotive shops and Horseshoe curve in Altoona were both targets of Nazi saboteurs in WWII. The historical significance continues into modern times with the crash of Flight 93 in Somerset County on September 11, 2001.

Rally Central is nestled in the valleys at the heart of this region in Bedford PA.  At the crossroads of I-70/76 ( PA Turnpike), I-99, and the historic Lincoln Highway (US30) the area offers spectacular scenery, great twisty roads, and a relaxed rural atmosphere.  Registration at Rally central will be open Monday afternoon for early arrivals and Tuesday morning for those arriving later, hours TBD. While Pennsylvania is a helmet optional state for riders over 18 who have completed the MSF training or been licensed for two years, at least one of the rides will cross into Maryland which requires DOT helmets, so helmets should be included when you pack.

Check back often we will be adding more info to the site as things come together! Hope to see you at Vulcans in the Valley!
